Exercising our mind is equally important as exercising our body, we can rather say, even more important as it is truly said, we can achieve anything we desire if we are able to train our mind to do so. Inculcating meditation as a daily habit can have a life changing effect on an individual as there are numerous benefits of meditation.
Meditation helps you become more mindful by having control over your thoughts,
Meditation helps you be grateful for what you have,
Meditation helps you grow compassion and kindness towards yourself as well as others,
Meditation helps you reduce stress and anxiety,
Meditation helps you be non judgemental thus allowing you to observe things as they are,
Meditation helps you have realistic expectations and teaches us acceptance,
Meditation helps you connect with your inner self making you happy from within.
Practicing meditation is like training your mind to have control over your thoughts, allowing the thoughts which demands attention to be taken care of and neglecting the ones leading to unnecessary stress and anxiety. Apart from this, meditation has also been shown to increase brain matter in the hippocampus resulting in improved memory.
